Quality housing is a critical component of self-sufficiency and community resilience. Affordable housing continues to be a concern throughout the state of Texas as demand continually exceeds the supply. Older housing stock and reduced buying power put more and more Texans at risk of not only paying more than they can afford for housing, but leave many faced with high energy burdens and limited ability to control energy costs.
The members of TACDC are among the most active developers of affordable housing and financiers of community development in the state. They have produced thousands of units of affordable housing and financed a significant number of ventures in business development. Additionally, in recent years our membership has expanded to include a number of community-based organizations whose primary missions include health care, education, and other services relate to developing communities are becoming increasingly active in TACDC events.
We want to invite you to participate in our 2024 conference to meet and interact with other members, supporters, funders, and other attendees. Your presence as an attendee, sponsor, or exhibitor will allow you to showcase your own community development services or products, learn from your peers, and provide the opportunity to strengthen existing partnerships or forge new ones.

Registrations Scholarships will be available when Registration Opens
Want to bring more people from your organization?
With one paid registration from your organization, the scholarship covers the costs of registration for one additional person from your organization who otherwise would not be able to attend due to budget constraints.
There will be a limited amount of scholarships to encourage organizations to register board members and staff who otherwise would not be able to attend the conference.

AGENDA
TACDC is pleased to announce that registration is now open for the 2024 Texas Community Development Conference April 7-9 with an optional training on the 10th!! The conference will be held at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Denton Convention Center. Our 31st annual conference promises breakouts galore, 3-5 plenary sessions, lunch keynote speakers, a community development tour (Tuesday afternoon) AND an additional 3/4 day training on the Community Reinvestment Act (Wednesday).
EXCITING NEWS!
The Texas Association of Community Development Corporations and Texas Community Capital are pleased to announce a CDFI specific track at the 2024 Texas Community Development Conference in Denton. The track will consist of three sessions and will take place on Tuesday, April 9th ONLY. The CDFI Track is open to any TACDC conference attendee and TACDC will offer a ONE DAY CDFI registration for $150 for those who cannot attend the entire conference.

Join Us for a 3/4 Day Training on the Community Reinvestment Act
This training will explore how the new federal CRA rule impacts banks and community development corporations and community development financial institutions.
This training is designed for community-based organizations interested in learning about the Community Reinvestment Act and how it can benefit the people and the communities they serve. The training will include discussions with representatives from the three federal financial institution regulatory agencies, community reinvestment advocates, and a banker's roundtable designed to provide CDC and CDFI staffers information on the Community Reinvestment Act and practical suggestions for developing partnerships with banks.
The CRA Banker Roundtable allows bank staff members responsible for implementation and compliance of the Community Reinvestment Act within their financial institution the chance to discuss how they work within CRA guidelines and how they meet their bank’s CRA obligations. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions of the panelists to gain insight on strategies for accessing bank CRA resources.
Please indicate on your registration form if you intend to attend the training. Breakfast and lunch are provided to registrants. The cost to attend is $25.

TACDC is a trade association, created through the cooperative efforts of its members. TACDC has over 130 members spanning the state and reflecting Texas' diversity and geography.
Our membership is engaged in producing affordable housing and community economic development. TACDC promotes a supportive environment at the local, state and federal levels on behalf of those that create and preserve homes, jobs, small businesses and other community assets.

We have negotiated a rate of $149 per night at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Denton Convention Center. The room rate will be honored 3 days before and 3 days after the conference, based on availability.

Any reservations canceled within 48 hours of arrival will be charged first nights room and tax.
